The Vorum CAD/CAM installation at Sydney Children’s Hospital was recently featured in the Australian news. The Vorum CAD/CAM solution will enable quicker and more accurate production of cranial helmets and other orthoses such as back braces for children suffering scoliosis and spinal fractures. The hospital’s clinical program director Virginia Binns said: “The Carver will not only reduce the time it takes to develop the orthoses for our patients, but will also provide significant Workplace Health and Safety benefits for the dedicated orthotic staff working in this unit, as the current cast modification process can be quite physically strenuous.’’
