Vorum's scanGogh II™ scanner is a hand-held imaging system, used to record the external surface shape of the human body. It is a compact, portable system that is practical for practitioners on the go. It is also useful for multi-location offices that can benefit from a "shared" system. Patient's appointments for scan bookings can be scheduled to suit.
The scanGogh II™ is a non-contact, optical measuring device. As you are scanning, the scanGogh II™ transmits measurement data to your computer and displays 3-dimensional shape data on your computer screen in real-time.
With the scanGogh II™ scanner, there is no tissue displacement. This is especially beneficial for patients who are particularly fleshy, as measuring or casting them directly may indent the skin and flesh and produce inaccurate results.
The scanGogh II™ includes a wand, a small transmitter, and an electronics unit. It works with Vorum's Canfit™ P&O Design software.
The scanGogh II™ can be used in a small work space. You will need a computer with the appropriate technical specifications. Have the patient sit or stand comfortably and start scanning.
The wand projects a line of light onto the patient. Measurement data is automatically transmitted to the software program. The program allows you to accurately place as many landmarks you require. Adjustable settings in the scanGogh II™ software also allow you to determine level of detail vs. smoothing in the image capture. Because scanned measurements are saved instantly, you can edit your patient profile simply with the click of a mouse - much simpler and easier that traditional casting methods.
After you have completed your scan, your scanned patient image is displayed on your computer screen. Data from scanGogh II™ can be modified on the computer using the Canfit™ P&O design software.
For those clients who are not working in the P&O industry, a utility is available to convert scanGogh II™ surface data into other file formats (such as STL, XYZ, AOP, etc. - among others) to input to third party CAD programs.
