What is the Canfit™ Body Jacket Design software?

Customized body jackets can be created quickly and easily with the Canfit™ Body Jacket Design, designed specifically for the orthotics field. The application also has the capability to import scanned (digitized) shapes to ensure accurate extraction of measurement data and provide the clinician with additional shape information. Your modified or "active" shape can be compared with your scanned patient shape throughout the design process.


How does the Canfit™ Body Jacket Design software work?

  • Data is obtained - Clinician records circumferential, width, depth and height measurements at specifics levels on the torso. Digital sagittal and coronal photos of the patient or the patient's x-rays can also be used.
  • Library shape is selected - Select a library shape from the list of shapes provided.
  • Measurement data is entered into the design program - Generates a fully modified body jacket based on the library shape selected.
  • Shape is carved - The body jacket shape may be carved "as is",or further changed via interactive on-screen modification using the extensive and powerful Canfit™ suite of design tools.

What do I need to get started with the Canfit™ Body Jacket Design software?

The Canfit™ Body Jacket Design software may easily be used in conjunction with a central fabrication facility and an associated carver.

Libraries - Use our existing libraries or develop and integrate your own

Large libraries of spinal shapes are available for various clinical requirements, including scoliosis, lordosis, and post-operative braces. The customer may choose to purchase existing library shapes and/or supply body jacket library shapes to Vorum Research Corporation for inclusion in a customer-specific digital library. Customers with a digitizer and P&O Design software can digitize their plaster positives or negatives to develop their own library of shapes, or customers can modify existing library shapes and add these revised reference models to their library.
