What is the Canfit™ BK Design software?

Transtibial sockets can be designed within a matter of minutes with the Canfit™ BK Design. Created specifically for the prosthetics field, this CAD program is extremely easy and economical to operate. Currently incorporated brim styles are: PTB (Patellar Tendon Bearing) and PTS (Patellar Tendon Supracondylar). Another brim style, called TSB (Total surface bearing or Hydrostatic Weight Bearing), is better achieved using the scanGoghII™ Optical Laser Scanner. Vorum will also create custom libraries for customers based on their own brim shapes and clinical preferences.
How does the Canfit™ BK Design software work?
- Socket data is obtained - Socket data is obtained by fitting an appropriate proximal brim to the patient and taking a series of circumferential measurements or by taking measurements only.
- The measurement data is entered into the design program - The measurement data entered into the design program generates a fully modified BK socket and displays it on the computer screen.
- Shape is carved - This below knee shape may be carved "as is", or further changed via interactive on-screen modification using the extensive and powerful Canfit™ suite of design tools.
What do I need to get started with the Canfit™ BK Design software?
The Canfit™ BK Design may be used in conjunction with a central fabrication facility and an associated carver
Advantages of the Canfit™ BK Design software
- Fast - Much faster than casting and digitizing techniques, very effective for immediate post-operative prosthetic sockets.
- Consistent - Produces a high quality BK socket every time
- Low Cost - Time is money
- Fit - Use the carving to help you produce a check socket.
- Clean - Eliminate the use of plaster. No cast is required.
