What is the Canfit™ P&O 6-Axis Carver?

Carve prosthetic and orthotic positive shapes faster than ever before with the Canfit™ P&O 6-Axis Carver. This carving machine has been tailored specifically for the prosthetics and orthotics industry and is built for high-volume production. It is specifically designed to carve hard and soft materials including polyurethane foam blanks, polypropylene and copolymer. Almost any prosthetic and orthotic shape is achievable with its highspeed capabilities and extreme accuracy. Carve a full range of models (in some cases, final devices): from AFOs and insoles to seats and standing shells.
The time it takes to carve your shape depends on the size and complexity of your design. Below is a list of average times to carve smooth shapes:
- AFO - 14 minutes
- KAFO - 17 minutes
- Transfemoral prosthesis - 8 minutes
- Transtibial prosthesis - 6 minutes
- Seats (complex) - 60 minutes
- Spinals (TLSO) - 15 minutes
- Beds - 60 minutes

How does the Canfit™ P&O 6-Axis Carver work?
- Design shape and export to the Canfit™ VisualCAM NG software
- Load shape and load block on the carver
- Choose your block - standard or custom size block
- Software creates different passes - each pass is typically from a different direction
- Start carving
- Once finished, remove from tabletop or mandrel depending on which configuration is used
