What is the Canfit™ YETI™ 3D Foot Scanner?

The YETI™ 3D Foot Scanner is a precision optical imaging device designed specifically to capture the three-dimensional shape of human feet and physical casts, moulds, and shoe lasts.


Employing eight cameras and four lasers, the YETI™ 3D Foot Scanner is unmatched in the market for providing high speed scanning. It obtains 3D surface scans of a patient's foot in less than 4 seconds. Traditional hand-held scanning techniques average approximately 2 minutes.

The YETI™ 3D Scanner works with the YETI™ Shape Builder software to rapidly process raw scan data into an accurate image with comprehensive measurement information. Full 3D shape, as well as a series of foot measurements are recorded. These data integrate seamlessly with the Canfit™ FootWare™ system.

The Yeti™ 3D scanner is also available in a High Resolution model. Its added benefit is its capability to scan shoe lasts. In the 3D view mode, critical shape entities such as landmarks and feather lines can be displayed.

YETI™ 3D Standard Resolution Scanner - for Foot Measurement

The scanner is also available in a standard resolution format for measurement of the human foot. The YETI™ 3D Standard Resolution Scanner measures detailed, full surface information of a patient's foot with the foot in either full, partial or non-weight bearing positions.

Set up

  • Prior to installation, a Vorum product support engineer will give you updated specifications for the computer needed to use the scanner.
  • An engineer will travel to your site to install the YETI™ 3D foot scanner

How does the YETI™ 3D Foot Scanner work?

  1. Place foot on weight bearing platform
  2. Turn on scanner and computer
  3. Open the Yeti Shape Builder™ software
  4. Set the software to scan - takes approximately 4 seconds
  5. Scan, along with the foot measurements, will be displayed on the computer screen
  6. Scanned shape is ready for modification
  7. Use our Canfit™ FootWare™ Design software to further modify your scan, grading library shapes to customize an insole/shoe last for your patient
  8. After your design is complete, export the file to our CAM software (OrthoCAM for insoles; 4-Axis CAM for shoe lasts).
